2018
Sunphade Established
Sunphade AS was founded to commercialise a new generation of solar control technology after years of research at the renowned Institute for Energy Technology (IFE).
2019 – 2021
Deep R&D Phase
Intensive technology development at IFE, building the scientific and IP foundation required for industrial-scale commercialisation.
2022
Commercial Start
Granted a 16 mNOK Innovation Project for the Industrial Sector (governmental grant) and backed by new investors to prepare for market entry.
2023
From Lab to Industrial Scale
Successful small-scale industrial production and paid pilot projects with leading building owners.
2024
Leadership Team Appointed
CEO and Director of R&D recruited to lead commercialization phase. More than 50 mNOK invested in R&D since inception, with several patent families secured by company.
2025
Built for Scale
Key functions in place across R&D, operations and sales. Ramp-up commercial projects, with the first international installation completed in Spain.
