Get to know Sunphade

Sunphade is a startup dedicated to revolutionizing solar control solutions for modern buildings, with a focus on addressing the pressing challenges of space cooling. Our technology helps regulate indoor temperatures, reducing the reliance on traditional cooling methods and promoting energy efficiency.

Founded in 2018, Sunphade emerged from a collaboration with the Institute for Energy Technology in Norway. We wanted to bring innovative solar control technology to the market, transforming the way we experience and interact with windows. At Sunphade we’re committed to reshaping how buildings harness sunlight and manage energy consumption.

Our journey

We have come a long way since our inception. In 2023, we achieved significant milestones by conducting several successful pilot projects, affirming the efficacy of our technology. Now, in 2024 we’re launching our commercial solar control film in the B2B-market. A milestone is the culmination of extensive research and development, driven by our passion for creating sustainable and comfortable environments.

Developed by a dedicated team of scientists at IFE, this technology has been refined over years of study and experimentation. Windows in residential buildings account for 25-30% of energy usage, primarily due to cooling and heating demands. To combat this, our team at Sunphade has harnessed state-of-the-art laboratories and resources to craft a solar control solution that is both robust and reliable.
